Central to the development strategy of the Peloponnese Region lies the operation of the Peloponnese Innovation Office.
The Innovation Office is a new initiative aimed at strengthening local entrepreneurship and connecting research with the market.
A key role in the operational activation and strategic enhancement of the Office is played by the collaboration between the Peloponnese Region, the University of the Peloponnese, and specialized research and development organizations, with the goal of coordinating innovation activities and leveraging research outcomes.
Actions and Services of the Innovation Office
The Innovation Office develops a comprehensive framework of applied actions and services, organized around three main pillars:
Implemented Innovation Actions
- Industrial Doctorates – preparation of doctoral candidates for the submission of dissertation proposals in collaboration with businesses.
- Pilot Applications – testing new products, services, and technologies under real operating conditions.
Networking Actions
- R&D Synergies – strengthening collaborations between enterprises and academic / research institutions for the joint addressing of technological and production challenges.
- EU Connection – linking the enterprise with European networks and international initiatives.
- Insight Labs – participation in interactive workshops for the presentation and discussion of study findings related to regional specialization priorities.
- Multi-Conferences – organization of multi-conferences with thematic sessions, presentations of best practices, panel discussions and targeted networking activities with enterprises, research institutions and institutional representatives.
Support Actions
- Innovation Cluster – participation in a dynamic and organized cluster that enables businesses to access targeted support services.
- Innovation Agoras – participation in thematic meetings involving stakeholders from the business, research, academic, and social ecosystem.
- CEOs Clubs – participation in closed meetings with business leaders for strategic discussions and the exploration of partnerships.
The Office operates as a collaboration hub connecting businesses, universities, research institutions, public organizations, and society, promoting the transfer of knowledge into practical solutions and fostering research and development partnerships. At the same time, it enables businesses in the Peloponnese to gain access to European networks, new partnerships, and internationalization opportunities.
Through its operation, the Office aims to develop a strong innovation pillar that will activate the regional ecosystem of the Peloponnese and create real value for businesses, researchers, and citizens.
The project is implemented within the framework of the Action “Support actions for entrepreneurial discovery through the collaboration of Regional Business and Research Organizations (Innovation Office)”, with MIS code 6011212. The Action is part of the “Peloponnese 2021–2027” Programme and is co-financed by the European Union (European Regional Development Fund) and national resources through the Public Investment Programme. The Contracting Authority is the University of the Peloponnese.
